Meet the candle makers
I am Annie Roewe and this is my husband Steve. We're a team and best friends, so it was natural that we become partners in our business too. I have been a devotee of candles for many years. I was getting tired of paying for over-priced, store bought paraffin candles, so I learned how to make my own scented natural wax candles and fell in love. The tiny spark from lighting that first candle developed into what is now Devotee Candles. This is where our motto was born -- Be The Spark!
Based in Kansas, we believe in helping to Be The Spark! in area children's lives too. For every $500 in profit, we are donating $50 to the KC Stem Alliance. They have a "safe and supportive 4,200-square-foot workspace where Kansas City's K-12 urban students acquire real-world knowledge, skills, and experience through hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math programming."
